Some of the foods here are a bit different than what we're use to. I've added some photos below. Notice that with the fish and chips the peas. Peas are a staple here. Great for me, not so much with Carolyn. Bangors and Mash is simply sausage and mashed potato. The sausage here is excellent. Meat pies are on my menu a lot. They are not our pot pies. They are beef, chicken, or pork baked inside a flaky crust. Mince pies are on my favorite list. The little pastry looking things are called Yorkshire Puddings. They have nothing to do with pudding, but are especially yummy covered in beef gravy. By the way, pudding seems to be a term for desserts in general.
There are foods we miss. Corn dogs (We miss you Sonic), dill pickles (Carolyn added that), Honey Nut Cheerios, graham crackers, saltine crackers, Wendy's bargain menu, Golden Corral, and Wednesday night meals at Henderson. We have been able to order a few things like pickles and corn bread mix on Amazon. Most of those things are shipped here from South Africa. Go figure.
As I said in the beginning, I haven't lost any weight since I got here. I blame it on biscuits, chocolate, and all the great cooks. Especially Carolyn.
